Coffee machines are unique in that they produce a large range of sounds depending on where the coffee is within the brewing process. Acoustic isolation is key to ensure as little sound transfer to the outside through the structure as possible, so to the reduce the overall average level. Although these appliances provide hearing rest between processes, some of these can become highly intrusive and uncomfortable.
It is because of this reason that isolating louder components, such as the grinding blades, is especially important. Furthermore, liquid sounds are to be minimised outside the coffee pouring process, as they create a sense of leakage where the user may be forced to stop the machine and check for cracks.
