Natural Acoustic Insulation

Launching this Autumn, IndiSilence is a next generation acoustic insulation from Indinature natural Hemp Scottish Borders natural fibre insulation with Quiet Mark Certification. IndiSilence Acoustic Partition Roll (APR) and Acoustic Insulation Slabs are UK grown and made, blending industrial hemp and recycled textiles fibres to offer net-carbon negative insulation for outstanding natural acoustic soundproofing and comfortable living spaces.

The natural fibres used in IndiSilence and other ranges IndiBreathe and IndiTherm, have excellent natural acoustics and significantly outperforms building regulations for noise reduction in internal partition walls and floors in new build and retrofit construction (greater than 40db sound reduction) and is affordable, quick to friction fit and soft to touch, so is a joy for installers to work with.

Once commonplace, industrial hemp is a traditional textiles crop making a comeback in UK farm rotations, offering perfect natural fibres to make insulation with outstanding natural acoustic soundproofing, along with other benefits for soil health, biodiversity and carbon capture.  In 2022 the first IndiNature Mill was established in the Scottish Borders. Building on the manufacturing and textiles heritage of the region, achieving ISO 9001 quality management accreditation in 2024, a new generation of bio-based materials can now be made. IndiNature brings local crops into local manufacturing, into local homes and buildings, accelerating bio-based materials from fields to factories.

Nuisance noise doesn’t always come from external sources. Whether in a living or working environment, controlling the passage of sound between internal spaces can make the difference between a peaceful experience, or a much more stressful one. ROCKWOOL Sound Insulation Slab has been uniquely designed for use in internal and separating walls and floors, to reduce noise from adjacent rooms or properties within the same dwelling. The solution helps to create quiet, peaceful and comfortable spaces in residential and commercial environments.

ROCKWOOL Sound Insulation Slab is made from mineral wool insulation, with a non-directional fibre orientation and high density, meaning sound waves are trapped and vibrations dampened. The acoustic slab also repels water and is vapour permeable, resisting rot and mould. In addition to its acoustic insulation properties, ROCKWOOL Sound Insulation Slab offers exceptional fire performance, capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 1000°C and has achieved the highest Euroclass A1 fire resistance classification.

Triumph of triple glazing

Double glazing provides optimum levels of thermal performance, but with triple glazing there are even better standards. The improved glazing helps to reduce the overall consumption of energy, keeps the property warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. In turn, this reduces energy bills, decreasing carbon footprints. Triple glazing dramatically reduces noise pollution, is perfect for properties in more urban and built up areas, triple glazing has been designed to block out any unwanted noises and allow you to enjoy moments of peace and quiet.

Other benefits of triple glazing is new windows or doors are less prone to condensation. Unlike single or double glazing, it will be incredibly difficult for air and water to build up within the windows, making them better protected against adverse climates. Triple glazing is manufactured using robust glass further enhancing the security of the property preventing intruders from easily breaking into the building. Quiet Mark Certified Internorm triple glazing offers the best standard of window and door systems, also featuring the latest high quality locking mechanisms.
